Jon Stewart is a staple personality in the comedy industry, but before he got his big break, he began his career as a stand-up comedian. He did a lot of shows and booked himself a lot of television jobs with the exposure he got from stand-up comedy. He had the fantastic opportunity to host The Daily Show on Comedy Central from 1999 to 2015. The show wasn’t popular before the comedian joined, and many of his peers gave him credit for providing life to the show.

Stewart didn’t just give life to the show, he also gave it its success! The show was critically acclaimed and received 16 Emmy Awards during his stint in the show.  Being the host of The Daily Show put him in the limelight, and it’s reported that he had an annual salary of $16 million. It sounds reasonable with everything he did and contributed to the show.
